Bitte and Set
A couple in their best years who live in a lovely area in Österlen. Both of us are very interested in food and cooking. Set use to work with the meals on a sailing ship “Hoppet af Brantevik” on its sailing trips to Estonia, Scotland and Denmark for example.
Set is born 1945, have had a company of his own until 2010, where he now still works, part-time retired. Bitte born 1957, works at Kristianstad University at the bachelor program of “Food and Meal Science”. We meet in year 2000 and since 2004 we have a small farmhouse near Kivik. We only bought the houses, not so much land as we are no farmers. The surroundings are although rural. It’s about 3 kilometers to the coast and Kivik.
We are both members of Rotary International and very active in their international exchange programs so greeting guests to our house are nothing new, we really like that!
Once we had a rotary guest from Oklahoma City who had celiaki and that was interesting to cook for him. I remember I baked gluten free bread where I mixed in herbs and then toasted it. The best bread he had since he was diagnosed.
We have two dogs, one Kleiner Münsterländer and one Dachshund. We use them for hunting. We are also both interested in walking tours, picking berries and mushrooms. The only foreign languages we speak are English. Bitte studied French in school, but forgot most of it as it’s not so often used. We can serve both lunch and dinner, but the Swedish “fika” is not our specialty, we very seldom bake cakes or cookies. Set have four kids from a marriage 1970 – 1993; Anne, Anders, Lars and Tomas. Bitte have no kids.
