The Ördell Family

We live in central Ystad, more precisely in the medieval Old Town. There, we live next door to the monastery and many beautiful half timbered houses. Ystad is the hometown of the famous police inspector Wallander and most movies are made in Ystad or its vicinity. Our apartment is housed in a former granary from the 1800s.

We live there with our two children, Martin and Max, who is thirteen and eleven years old. Lille-Mor works as a special needs educator and Kristian works as a communications officer.

Our three German shorthair pointers are an important part of our everyday life. Lille-Mor’s major interest is to train and compete with them for bird hunting. Kristian’s major interest is our old house out on Österlen, next door to the medieval castle Glimmingehus.

The family’s other interests include film, music, skiing and hiking in the mountains. If you are interested we can offer a special guided tour when it comes to Wallander locations – in terms of both the Swedish and British Wallander. We also offer a guided tour with a simple outdoor lunch to Österlen in Southeast Skåne, with its wonderful landscape, sometimes compared to Tuscany.

When it comes to cooking, we like Swedish home cooking, preferably with a little twist, such as lamb. We can offer lunch, dinner or a Swedish ’coffee’ (fika).

It takes 50 minutes by train from Malmö to Ystad. We live within walking distance from the train station. To the house, our little ”Skane cottage”, it is about 90 kilometers from Malmö by car or train.

Welcome!
